A Master Bathroom Transformation

This master bathroom was such a privilege to design.

The clients, like so many homeowners, wanted to update their small bathroom into a space that functioned well, while sticking to a modest budget. They requested a light, bright, modern design that would be easy to clean and would make the most of the small footprint.

Here are the "Before's"

The space was not functioning well for them, with the shower feeling small and the space cluttered. In order to stay on budget, the homeowners did most of the demo and drywall work themselves, taking the space down to the studs.

CREATING THE ILLUSION OF SPACE

In a small bathroom like this one, every single square foot matters. The first order of business was to remove the soffit in the shower. This opened up the space and made the shower feel much more spacious.

The walls got a fresh coat of white paint and I selected a light, large scale "marble" porcelain tile for the shower walls, run vertically to draw the eye up. The tile was installed all the way up to the ceiling, creating the feeling of more space.

My favorite part of the room is definitely the floors. For the floor tile, we went with a dramatic, smaller scale, black herringbone with dark grout. This grounded the space and provided contrast with the white walls and tile. The floor tile runs all the way through to the shower, eliminated any separation between the bathroom and the shower.

The glass shower door also helped to create the feeling of more space, while adding a sophisticated element to the room.

STORAGE

One of the client's must-haves was ample storage. We accomplished this by bringing in a walnut vanity with plenty of storage, a modern medicine cabinet, and open shelving. An all white bathroom can sometimes feel cold, so these wood tones provided much needed warmth as well.

The existing niche (where the only medicine cabinet hung) was left open to allow for more shelving.

Thanks for stopping by!

Management of Miscellania - Complete both quests involving the area, then put 10m (max amount) in. Expect around 160% on returns if using an appropriate allocation (I do mahogany logs). Player-Owned Portals - With only five minutes of effort, you can earn millions of dollars per week. You'll need to do this for OSRS gold about one year. Additionally, you need to be able to create things and begin Ports (level 85-93 is for everything).

Shop buying - buy shop supplies like feathers and broad arrowheads, yakhids, chocolate bars or battlestaffs. Kill Hill Giants are located in Edgeville's resource construction. Take the bones and the limpwurt root.

It is best to only bring the most valuable items (and not pizzas…
